Some People Should Not Have Electric Carving Knives

Like me, for instance. I got it in my head to make a roast for dinner, complete with all the goodies (mushrooms, potatoes, carrots, turnips, parsnips, onions, etc.). So far, so good…I can actually cook. But then rather than using my grandmother’s carving knife I always use, I decided to be lazy and use the silly electric one my father bought me years ago which has sat unused in a drawer since then. NOT a good idea! Don’t ask me how I managed because I’m still at a loss, but I somehow managed to almost take the tip of my left index finger clean off. It occurs to me that when my family gives me kitchen gadgets I should promptly either regift them or put them in the garage sale pile…I don’t do well with convenience, apparently.
