Samsung Announces the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3 Dylan Duarte April 11, 2013 Samsung has announced their newest oversized smartphones, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and 6.3, which put even the 5.5-inch Galaxy Note II to shame. In terms of specs, both phones aren’t quite high end, but their massive displays are plenty impressive. The 6.3 is even bigger than the 6.1-inch Huawei Mate. The Galaxy Mega 6.3 sports a 6.3-inch 720p display, LTE connectivity, 8GB or 16GB of storage, and a decent 1.7GHz dual-core processor. The Galaxy Mega 5.8 has a 5.8-inch qHD display, HSPA connectivity, 8GB of storage, and a 1.4GHz dual-core processor. Both phones are equipped with 8-megapixel cameras, microSD slots, IR blasters for controlling TVs, and are loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Pricing information hasn’t been released yet, but due to the lower specs, expect them to be cheaper than the Galaxy Note II and Galaxy S 4. As for availability, the phones will launch in Europe next month and from there will expand to other territories. via The Verge Share This With The World!
