According to a combination of news items and a bit of speculation, the long-rumored second-generation Google Nexus 7 will be officially unveiled next week at a conference helmed by Android, Chrome, and Google Apps Senior Vice President Sundar Pichai. The new tablet, which could be called the Nexus 2 7 or the Nexus 7 2, will launch that same week with a 16GB model and a 32GB model.

The specs are supposedly similar to those that have been rumored for a while: a 7-inch display of unknown resolution (could be 1280x800, could be 1080p), quad-core Snapdragon 600 SoC, 2GB RAM, 1.2MP front-facing camera, 5MP rear camera, and Android 4.3. Physically, it doesn't look much different from its predecessor. The phonetablet coming with Android 4.3 would of course mean that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is also being launched next week.

As far as pricing goes, the rumored prices are $229USD for the 16GB and $269USD for the 32GB. Now let's just wait and see how much of this is accurate.
