Sometimes the best ideas are the simplest ideas. When it comes to power supplies the idea of gimmicks or things only being there to “look good” fell by the wayside years ago. In today’s market, it is about quality, durability, and value. I personally look at a PSU like I look at kitchen appliances. I want high quality product with a clean style and I think that is what Rosewill FORTRESS Series is aiming for.
The FORTRESS is a single 12V rail design with up to a 62.5A output across four 6+2 PCIe cables on the 750W model (450W, 550W, and 650W also available). While I don’t think the 750W unit will handle a pair of high-end video cards, it should more than handle up to a pair of high mid-ranged cards with no problem. No matter what you configuration is, the FORTRESS should give you clean power with minimal power waste and heat.
While you do lose a few luxuries such as module cabling, LED lights, or fancy monitoring software, the Rosewill FORTRESS uses its simple design to its advantage. The simple build helps to maintain efficiency and may improve life span. If you need quality and to save a few dollars, then this may be the PSU you have been shopping for.
