First, all the talk+text+data plans now have three times the amount of mobile data. The $3.95 one-day plan, for example, used to come with unlimited minutes and text messages, plus 100MB of data. That has now been bumped to 300MB. Similarly, the 3-day plan now gets 900MB, the 7-day plan gets 2GB, and the 14-day plan gets 4GB. If you’re down in the States a little longer, you can get a full 30 days of unlimited talk and text, plus a whopping 9GB of data for $89.95.
Second, Roam is helping out all of you who don’t need talk and text. All of the data-only plan prices have been slashed by as much as 50%. Depending on how much data you want to purchase at a time, this can get you down to as little as a penny per megabyte. In line with this, Roam is introducing a new 300MB data plan that is valid for three days and it costs $7.95.
Speaking for myself, Roam has saved the MEGATechNews team a fair bit of money with our travels. We need to stay connected to our emails, Twitter, Facebook and the rest of it while on the road and this is one of the most affordable ways to do it. I know both Stephen and I put our Roam plans to good use when we were in New York last month! In any case, check out the full press release for more info on the Roam changes.
