We all have something in our desks that our office mates think should be fair game for all. Well, OK, I don’t, because I don’t work at a desk. But you know what I mean. I’ve written about desk protection gadgets before, like the Dalek Desk Defender and the Stay Out of My Room Alarm. This one, however, is by far my favourite, because while I am definitely a fan of Dr. Who, I am much more so a fan of Star Wars. Which means this is perfect for me!

As you can see, this is Yoda, and protect your desk he will! He’s actually from the Clone Wars animated series, but close enough to the real thing for the kind of people I hang out with. His light saber actually does light up, and can detect people between two and three meters away from your desk. Whereupon he will make one of several announcements such as “Retreat! Cover you I will!” and “Rush not into fight, long is the war – Only by surviving it will you prevail”.

OK, granted, it would be way cooler if he was mobile and could actually use his light saber to ward off those approaching your desk in search of your hidden stash of Hallowe’en candy, but I’ll take the verbal warning since it’s all I can get. He’s powered via USB, and stands six inches tall including the base. Just plug him in, flip the switch, and he’s ready to go.
