Nintendo Shoots Down Smartphone App Rumors; Iwata Halves Pay After Wii U Flop Dylan Duarte January 29, 2014 Yesterday we brought you reports of Nintendo supposedly bringing their gaming goodness to Android and iOS mobile devices in the form of demos and other content. I used the word “supposedly” because the company has released a statement denying any such thing. According to the statement, the idea has been brought up in the past, but Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata has turned it down with no intention of branching out to smartphones. This comes just a week after Nintendo admitted that the Wii U was a flop and slashed their sales forecast by a whopping 70%, as well as cutting its forecast on 3DS units. All of this has led to Iwata taking responsibility and cutting his pay in half. Maybe a smartphone app isn’t such a bad idea? via Tech Crunch Share This With The World!
