Nikon has announced two lenses from complete opposite ends of the spectrum: The massive and powerful telephoto AF-S 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR and the Ultra Wide Angle AF-S 18-35mm f/3.5~4.5G ED.
Both lenses will have their appeal, with the 800mm being geared primarily towards affluent bird photographers while the 18-35mm will suit anyone looking for an affordable wide angle for their full frame or crop sensor camera. Both lenses utilize some of Nikon's latest technology including Super Integrated Coating (SIC) and the 800mm version also features Nikon's legendary crystal Nano coating.
The AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR, supplied with the AF-S Teleconverter TC800-1.25E ED, will be available in April 2013 for the manufacturers suggested retail price (MSRP) of $17,899.95. The AF-S NIKKOR 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5G ED will be available in March 2013 for the MSRP of $749.95
