One of the bigger items to come out of today's special Google event is the new Nexus 7 2 tablet. Like so many "surprises" nowadays, news of the tablet leaked a while ago and last week we posted a rumor that the Nexus 7 would be announced at this very show with a launch to follow shortly thereafter. The rumor was correct on both.

The second-generation Nexus 7 is powered by Android 4.3, boasts a 1920x1200 display with a 323 PPI pixel density, a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro 1.5GHz processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB or 32GB storage, 5.0MP rear and 1.2MP front cameras, Bluetooth 4.0, and 802.11a/b/g/n Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi models will be available in the U.S. on July 30, with the LTE edition and global models becoming available in the following weeks. The 16GB Wi-Fi will go for $229, the 32GB Wi-Fi $269, and 64GB LTE $349.
