The Angry Birds have been angry for almost three whole years now, so maybe it’s time for them to just sit back and take a breather. Rovio Mobile’s new sequel is something a bit different (and I do mean just a bit). Later this month, Rovio will be releasing Bad Piggies, giving the series antagonists their own starring roles.

Details are scarce and the teaser videos, while great, don’t show any gameplay footage. Hopefully the game will play very differently than Angry Birds, rather than just being a glorified skin swap. Rovio posted the game’s release date on their Twitter account, as well as the line “no slingshots or Angry birds in sight.”

Not having any birds in the game is a surprising choice, as one might assume they would swap roles with the pigs and become the antagonists. Who do you think the pigs will up against? Will they be snatching up all the eggs? Bad Piggies hits Android and iOS on September 27th.
