You have to be of a certain age to remember sitting down as a family to watch endless reels of actual film from family trips, graduation parties, beach vacations, and other mundane, truly boring activities. Today it’s all about digital media, but the content hasn’t actually changed much. However, content aside, this is brilliant! Even I would be willing to sit through those hours of footage again, but being me with my LEGO obsession, I would be watching the projector rather than what it was projecting. It’s just neat.

The only parts of this projector that are not made of LEGO bricks are the lens, lamp and reel spindles. Everything else…LEGO! It plays 8mm film with a speed of 24 fps, and allows fast forward and rewind. The light is provided by an LED for crisp picture quality. Obviously, this is a concept piece, but I would be willing to bet there would be a market for it should the designer want to actually produce them. I’d buy one.
