I had my hesitations about this game when I first played it, but it has since grown to become one of the better fighting game sequels in recent memory. By watching an intense tournament like this, you really start to appreciate the depth and complexity that it brings to the table. It’s not just about button mashing.
A hearty congratulations goes out to Sampson for winning the 1v1 Marvel vs. Capcom 3 tournament and to Peter Yang for being the runner-up. The grand finals consisted of a best 3 out of 5 and, well, you can watch the video below to see what he did. Sampson’s really a versatile player, as he also came in second in the Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition tournament. He came out of the losers’ bracket of that double elimination tournament and managed to get the reset in the final, but ultimately lost the following set. What’s interesting is that he’s proficient with so many characters in both games.
