You know what would be really, really cool? An automated device that sits at the end of the driveway in winter, and after the plow goes by it comes out and clears away the moat of snow-boulders that are left behind! Sort of like a huge version of the automatic-scoop litter boxes. It never fails…less than an hour after our service plows the driveway, the county plow comes by, and we’re actually worse off than we were before. My house sits on the inside of a corner, which means the county plow can’t make the turn close enough, so we end up with at times a 4-6 foot band of road-snow. What makes it worse this year is I’m on crutches, so I can’t shovel. It’s left up to my mother, who will be 74 soon.
