Hard Disk Failures are MUCH Higher Than Expected

According to a study, it appears that hard drive failure rates are about 15 times HIGHER than what the manufacturers claim them to be. I can understand the manufacturers fudging some numbers to look good on the spec sheets, but when you’re THAT FAR out of whack, oh man, better start backing up that data yesterday! Apparently Hard Disk Manufacturers did not want to comment on this article! I wouldn’t blame them!
