Google Introduces the Nexus 7 Dylan Duarte June 28, 2012 Google has entered the tablet PC race with the Nexus 7, an announcement that was spoiled by the Google Play Store not long before the company started their yearly I/O conference where they were certain to announce the tablet. The Nexus 7 will come in two models, an 8GB and a 16GB, and both will feature a 7-inch 1280×800 HD IPS display that’s both back-lit and scratch-resistant. The device, powered by Tegra 3, will run Android 4.1, commonly known as Jelly Bean. There’s also NFC, GPS, and a 1.2MP front-facing camera. Google claims that the 4325 mAh battery should last through eight hours of use. The rumors on pricing were pretty spot-on. The 8GB and 16GB models will be $199 and $249, respectively. Pre-orders are open now and are expected to ship in 2-3 weeks, and for a limited time you can get $25 in Google Play store credit with your purchase. via Tech Crunch Share This With The World!
