It’s fairly well known among my friends and family that I am not a fan of carrying a purse. But even I could be convinced it was a good idea if simply placing my phone in a purse would allow me to charge it… which is exactly what Everpurse promises, and I am intrigued. Perhaps not quite enough to shell out money for the Kickstarter project, but you never know. Besides, they are well over their target with plenty of time left to go, so it’s not like this won’t be coming soon to a store near you.

Everpurse is the first wireless charging bag that is aimed directly toward women. As such, it comes in several different colours and fabrics as befitting our innate need for fashion. Well, that’s what I’m told anyway…I’m not really a typical woman. I would go for plain black. Anyway, you can choose between a full-sized purse and an insert that will fit inside your regular purse, and almost like magic it will charge your phone. Wirelessly. I love that. The purse itself takes about six hours on a charging pad to fill its internal battery, but then it will provide twice the battery life of your iPhone. If I read that right, that means you can go the equivalent of three charges without having to plug your phone in. I love that, too.

While it does charge your phone wirelessly, there is a dock inside. But you don’t have to do anything, just slip your phone inside. Gravity takes care of the rest, hooking up your phone to instant power. The battery and receiver combined weigh just six ounces, so you won’t even notice the extra weight on top of all that other stuff you carry around.

If you want to get in on this one before the Kickstarter project closes, you’ll have to shell out at least $129.00 US. But the suggested retail price at that level is $175.00 US, so you’d still be getting quite a deal. And by the way, it’s not just for women, although that’s the marketing. Men can order one of the inserts for their gadgets, too.
