Fans of the Daleks rejoice! Now you can have one of the cute little deadly beasts of your very own! I’ve always had a soft spot for them… they’re so darn innocuous-looking yet so very wicked that I can’t resist. I’m not sure I could deal with waking up to one sitting on my nightstand just inches from my face, but you never know.

The Dalek clock stands about ten inches tall, and has all the features you would expect to find: the single eyestalk, the bumps on its body, the exterminator and sink plunger arms…speaking of the bumps, three of them have been assigned the tasks of demo, mode and set. The time is digitally displayed at the base, but when your alarm goes off it is also projected on your ceiling in blue (as well as blue lights being projected around the base of the clock). For alarm sounds, you can choose between the vibrations they make as they hover, the buzzing of their gunstick, or (my choice), their warcry “Exterminate!”. If all that doesn’t wake you up, there is a ten-minute snooze button. Unfortunately, the clock does not hover like a real Dalek, but you can’t have everything.

At only $39.99 US, why would you want to buy a regular, boring alarm clock?
