Diamond Dual Band 2.4Ghz5.0Ghz Wireless 802.11n Range Extender

What’s your favorite type of band? Rock? What about country or maybe heavy metal? My favorite type of band is dual band.

I’ll be here all week.

Diamond has released their new Dual Band 2.4Ghz/5.0Ghz Wireless 802.11n Range Extender, the WR600NSI, which is sure to satisfy all of your wireless needs. I live in a very old house that is structured in a very weird way and despite where we place the router, either I or one of my roommates isn’t going to get the full effect of our wireless Internet. We are the ideal customers for a wireless range extender, which will flood the neglected portions of our house with wonderful, intangible Internet and eliminate any pesky dead spots that might be lurking about. This particular extender has a range of 30 meters, which will cover a sizeable portion of any home.

These numbers aren’t going to mean something to everyone, but the extender supports 300Mbps for 2.4Ghz band and 300Mbps band for 5.0GHz. It comes with MIMO, 2T2r for 802.11b/g/n for 2.4GHz band and 2T2R for 802.11a/n for 5GHz band. Despite the string of letters and numbers I just threw at you, the WR600NSI is easy to set up and is equipped with a LED signal indicator so that you can know what’s up with your wireless with just a quick glance.

The Diamond WR600NSI plugs directly into an outlet, eliminating the need for an external power adapter. It uses Received Signal Strength Indicators to help you find the optimal spot to place it, something that the previous model didn’t do.

You can find the full press release below with the WR600NSI’s extensive list of features. It’s available now through the Diamond Multimedia Online store for $59.99 and will be coming to other retailers in late May.

Diamond Multimedia Announces Dual Band 2.4Ghz/5.0Ghz 300Mbps Wall-Plugged Wireless Range Extender (WR600NSI)

Dual Band 2.4Ghz/5.0Ghz 802.11n Concurrent 300Mbps Wireless Ranger Extender With Receive Signal Strength Indicator LED; Share Large Files, Printing and Storage Quickly and Reliably in Wider Ranges in Your Home or Office

LOS ANGELES, CA– May 14, 2014 – Diamond Multimedia today introduced the newest addition to its Wireless Range Extender product line, the Dual Band WR600NSIWireless Range Extender. The new WR600NSI acts as a Wireless Repeater and Range Extender, and Wireless Bridge Device that eliminates wireless dead spots. The Dual Band 300Mbps Wireless Range Extender supports 300Mbps for 2.4GHz band, and 300Mbps band for 5.0GHz. It also comes with MIMO, 2T2R for 802.11b/g/n for 2.4GHz band and 2T2R for 802.11a/n for 5GHz band. This second-generation device is even easier to set up and has a new LED signal indicator and it can extend the wireless range as far as 30 meters.

Unlike ordinary Wi-Fi repeaters that require an external power supply adapter, WR600NSI’s wall-plugged design empowers users to plug it directly into any available power outlet. The WR600NSI can take an existing 802.11n wireless signal, repeat it and send it to a longer range where it would have been too far for the router or access point to reach. It is designed with RSSI — Received Signal Strength Indicators — to determine the strength of the signal it receives from the router so that it can be placed in the optimal location, a new function that the first generation model did not have. The WR600NSI acts as a Wireless Bridge Device by receiving wireless signal from your home wireless network and converting to wired Ethernet connections for non-wireless devices such as Internet-ready HDTV, Blu-ray players, gaming consoles, and media players. Check out video here.
