LAS VEGAS – January 7, 2013 – Outdoor Technology, cutting-edge creators of action lifestyle audio accessories, break the mold again with the introduction of the Armadillo during the Consumer Electronics Show. A larger version of its predecessor, the Turtle Shell®, the Armadillo is a rugged shelled boombox that will allow you to dig into the dirt and experience the outdoor terrain with your favorite tunes via AirPlay or Bluetooth. Ideal for camping and for the home, the Armadillo is shockproof, waterproof, allows for daisy chaining and provides a USB port for charging other devices. Also debuting at CES is the new generation of the Turtle Shell® boom box. The new version features Bluetooth 4.0 and other design enhancements including IPX6 waterproof standard certification and APT-X codex enhanced audio for a more complete listening experience.

“We are stoked to introduce the Armadillo after the success of the Turtle Shell. The big bro of the Turtle Shell, the Armadillo is built for power, bass, serious hi-fi sound, and bulletproof durability,” said Caro Krissman, Co-Founder and CEO. “We are also pleased to announce enhancements to the Turtle Shell including the addition of apt-X, some cool 4.0 features and IPX6 certification, the highest waterproof standard for non-submersible products.”
