RennSport Racing Cockpit Lets You Hit The Finish Line in Style

I don’t play a lot of racing games, but I have to admit, this thing sure is cool. The new RennSport Racing Cockpit is from the folks that brought you the Porsche 911 officially licensed wheel. Sure enough, both pieces mate together to give you the most realistic driving experience you can have in your living room. Created by FANATEC, the two products work together to amplifiy the force feedback effects of the wheel.

The system is constructed of an aluminum roll cage design to give virtual racers stability in heated battles and is designed to use any real racing seat. So if you have a Recarro kicking around, you can bolt it in. However, if you’re one of the first ten customers to buy one, they’ll pop in a full carbon fiber seat in for free. Apparently, a $300 value.

If that’s not enough, Additionally, the RennSport Cockpit has optional monitor brackets for up to three 24” monitors, or a single monitor up to 37”, an optional sliding drawer for a wireless keyboard, and is prepped for a 5.1 surround sound system.

The racing seat is available for purchase right now for a cool $995 USD. A couple high res shots are available after the jump…

OCZ Announces 15 inch DIY Notebook Kit

Not content with simply building decent RAM and power supplies, it would appear that OCZ Technology has it’s sights set on the DIY or barebones notebook market with their latest 15″ DIY Kit. This market has seen some more budget minded entries companies like Acer and Asus, but this is first enthusiast targeted barebones kit that I know of. OCZ’s press release would agree, as Ryan Edwards, Director of Product Management, was quoted stating the following.

“With OCZ DIY notebooks, end-users have complete control of the cost/performance ratio of key components, giving consumers the opportunity to personalize a true gaming and multi-tasking powerhouse notebook by using a validated component list and our easy to follow step-by-step manual included with every DIY package.”

Basically he’s saying that this latest kit will be easy to setup and assemble, and easy to use after the fact. While I can’t argue the importance of that, I wonder how well the aspirations will match up with component availability. Though mobile components are mostly available for purchase from many retailers, availability of some components can be spotty. Either way this looks quite interesting, to say the least. If you want more information you can check out OCZ’s full press release, or check out the product home page.

Thecus Announces New AMD Geode Based N3200PRO NAS

Based on a similar chassis design to the M3800 Multimedia NAS, the new N3200PRO takes what was good in their previous product, N3200, and slaps a shiny new AMD Geode Processor into it. According to Thecus…

“The N3200 brought RAID 5 to the realm of home NAS units, and the N3200PRO is our follow up to this groundbreaking device,” says Thecus General Manager Florence Shih. “With an AMD GeodeTM processor at its core, users are really going to love the improved performance and system response of the N3200PRO.”

Well, of course no one likes a laggy NAS so I’ll definitely agree that improved performance and system response is a god thing. In addition to better performance, the new AMD Geode Processors are supposed to be better on the utility bill as well.

The N3200PRO will continue to offer a built in iTunes Server, DLNA Media Server, Photo Web Server and a built in Surveillance Server when paired with a compatible webcam. No price or released date was available from Thecus at this time, but they did tell me to send you to the Thecus Website. Another option would be their new RSS Feed Service in multiple languages.

SuperTalent Releases A New Bling Bling Gold USB Drive

The other day, SuperTalent went all luxury on us with the release of their new Luxio USB Flash Drives sporting up to 64GB’s of luxurious storage. Well, the folks at SuperT have decided to one up themselves once again with a bling bling gold plated version of their tiny Pico-C USB Drive.

Unlike the original Pico-C, which was merely gold plated, the new Limited Edition PIco-C drive has a casing that is actually made of solid 18-carat gold and comes with its own Certificate of Authenticity. Unfortunatley, it’s still only 8GB’s so you aren’t gaining any performance benefits. However, you can say that your USB drive is made of gold though.

Expect to see this drive available for around $599 US if you want to pre-order it. I don’t think we’ll be seeing these in stock anytime soon. Included in that price is laser etching of anything you want at no charge, a black velvet jewelry box so you’ll end up never using it, and a matching 18-carat gold keychain, which you will also never take out of the house.

For more information on this product, head on over to the SuperTalent Website. I’m expecting to see a diamond encrusted drive of some sorts next week. More pictures after the jump.
