Eat your heart out James Cameron! If you thought AVATAR was impressive with 3D, Thecus throws down with something that has 6D! That’s right 6D! Actually, it’s just a really powerful network attached storage device using a more powerful Dual Core ATOM D510 CPU, built in battery backup system and dual displays with one being a 2.8″ OLED among other feature rich features. The only issues that Thecus NAS’s seem to have is a somewhat user-unfriendly interface. I guess it’s like buying a high end sports car and realizing it only comes in manual and you can’t drive stick. The new Thecus N0503 Combo NAS has a unique feature that no other NAS on the market has. It’s the ability to use both 2.5 inch notebook drives and 3.5 inch desktop drives. An ingenious caddy inside the unit allows you to stack up to five of the 2.5 inch buggers sideways into the machine or three regular 3.5 inch drives on top of each other. As you may have figured out, you can’t mix the drives. With SSD’s dropping in price (but not quickly enough), one can only imagine the future possibilities.
