Recently I have see a trend of legacy ports not being included on newer boards and the UEFI GUI based BIOS replaced the traditional style BIOS. While ASRock and ASUS were quick to jump on the UEFI bandwagon, GIGABYTE still insistent on using their out dated BIOS setup. Well GIGABYTE has finally moved to UEFI and in a big way.

Gigabyte Launches Update for 6 Series Intel Boards
In an rather strange announcement, Gigabyte has released an update for their entire 6 series line of Intel LGA 1155 socket motherboards. It adds support for the 22nm Ivy Bridge socket 1155 processors to be released after the socket 2011 chips in early 2012. It also unlocks support for PCIe 3.0 which implies all these boards are wired for this already.
