Wordpress Users: Update to 2.1.2 Immediately

If you recently upgraded to 2.1.1, the last update to Wordpress, you must update to 2.1.2 immediately. Wordpress warns that files in the 2.1.1 archive were cracked and contains malicious code. If you are running Wordpress, please download that upgrade now and patch your installations. If you downloaded 2.1.1, trash it right away and do not use it. If you have questions, or know of how this happened, Wordpress has setup a special email address to assist you: 21securityfaq@wordpress.org

Special thanks to Stephen Fung for the note. MegaTechNews is now SECURE.

MegaTechNews Upgraded

Just a minor upgrade. The folks at Worpress have updated their software to version 2.1.1 as of last night. It is recommended that everyone install this upgrade to fix over 30 little bugs that they found in the last major revision. You can get more information on the upgrade here.

If there are any bugs that crop up, please let us know in the comments. Thanks.

MegaTechNews Software Updated

MegaTechNews just got updated to the latest version of Wordpress. Thanks to Stephen for the heads up. If you folks notice anything weird after the upgrade, please let us know in the comments.

Attention Bloggers: Wordpress 2.07 is Out!

Wordpress strongly recommends users to upgrade to their latest version 2.07. MegaTechNews has just done the upgrade and everything seems OK so far. If it isn’t doing OK, please post and let us know.

Recently a bug in certain versions of PHP came to our attention that could cause a security vulnerability in your blog. We’re able to work around it fairly easily, so we’ve decided to release 2.0.7 to fix the PHP security problem and the Feedburner issue that was in 2.0.6. It is recommended that everyone running WordPress 2.0.6 or lower upgrade to this new version.
