They Finally Called

My insurance guy finally got to me today, only three business days after I was told he would. If I’m really, really lucky, I’ll have enough money left for a value menu lunch after they pay off what I still owe on my car. And I still have to find a “new” one. Looks like I’m seriously car shopping now!

Celebrity Deaths

What is the deal lately!?! I mean, I realize people pass away all the time, but we’re having a epidemic! Some expected, some not expected but also not unreasonable, and some just flat shocking. I’m not normally one to follow all the celebrity gossip (my own life is enough of a soap opera, I don’t need to borrow theirs), but lately it’s very hard not to. Hopefully we’re done with this for a while.

How Did Friday Happen So Quickly?

The last time I was paying attention, it was the beginning of the week, and here we are at Friday afternoon already! Nice! On a somewhat more serious note, RIP Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. You were great entertainers in your own way, and you will be missed. My condolences to their families and friends left behind.

Any Time Now

It occurs to me that it’s virtually impossible to shop for another car when the insurance company’s “total loss department” has yet to call me and tell me how much they’re going to shell out for the one I wrecked. It’s not like I have a trade-in any more, and since it’s summer there is virtually no work so I don’t really have much for a down payment, either. They should’ve called me yesterday, but hopefully they’ll get to me today. I need to get moving on this pretty darn quick.

Congratulations, Pittsburgh!

You beat us fair and square, and there’s no shame in losing to a team as good as you. Now that I’ve been gracious…stupid hockey!! Now at least y’all don’t have to keep hearing about it, at least not until October or so. I don’t do summer sports.
