The wash and brush song from the Wizard of Oz has been stuck in my head since I first saw this product. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s the point when they’re cleaning up Dorothy and she asks, “Can you even dye my eyes to match my gown?” Anyway, my personal opinion of this is that it is absolutely silly. However, my 17-year-old niece would think it was the coolest thing anyone ever thought of, so maybe I need to rethink my middle-aged idea of things.

Many companies, but most especially tech companies, are always looking for a hook to draw in female customers. Most of the time, that means slapping some pink paint on something so the girly girls will buy it. Which is what Nokia did with their Lumia 900 (which is also available in cyan). But with the 900, they’ve gone a step further. Duality Cosmetics has developed a nail polish to match, and named it Nokia Lumia Pink. Seriously. You can paint your nails to match the colour of your phone.

On further thought, it’s actually kinda brilliant. Based purely on what I know about my niece, I would imagine there’s definitely a market here. But you’re going to have to sacrifice for your fashion…this is only going to be available in salons in Dallas, Denver and Los Angeles for a very limited time. One would assume if it goes over hugely, they’ll extend that and you should be able to find it closer to home at some point.
