It has a built-in dehumidifier! Sorry, that was not very professional at all. Lets try this again. ASRock has been one of the leaders in unique innovations for motherboards for the last few years. I have even reviewed an ASRock A75M-ITX which proved to me that their software does exactly what it advertises it will do. Well, let me show you the new ASRock Z77 Extreme9 with more of their innovative ideas.
The Z77 Extreme9 is also sporting LucidLogixVirtu MVP with support for up to 4 graphics cards in Crossfire/SLI. And finally we round out the package with a UEFI BIOS, OMG (Online Management Guard) to control Internet access times and Internet Flash tool. Now that we have gotten the things I can come to expect from ASRock’s Extreme lineup, lets look at the new goodies.
To ensure proper power distribution, the Z77 Extreme9 uses a PLX PEX 8747 Bridge to boost power for 4-way Crossfire/SLI systems. You do not want one of your graphics cards stumbling because the PCIe Gen3 slot suddenly had a dip in power. The PLX PEX 8747 ensures that does not happen with your x16/x16 or x8/x8/x8/x8 GPU setup.
Then you have the 2T2R Dual Band WiFi 802.11n/Bluetooth v4.0 module. Adding both great connectivity with BlueTooth devices such as wireless headsets, speakers, remote controllers, etc. and a 2.4/5 GHz wireless modem. The best part is this has 2 antennas in the front of the case with 2 USB 3.0 ports a well. So not only do you minimize possible interference since the antenna are in the front, but USB 3.0 connectivity too.
Finally, it has a built in dehumidifier. ASRock states this is to improve the longevity of your system by helping to reduce the humidity by 30% when the system is in S4/S5 state. Being from the south I also know that humidity will make heat stick to you like a bad date. This could actually help to reduce temperatures in your system as well, but this is just my personal speculation. Will have to see if someone will actually test that possibility.
Even if I am wrong about the last point, the ASRock Z77 Extreme9 comes with everything you could want from a motherboard and a dehumidifier. All I need now is a case with an active HEPA air filter, and I can replace every device in my living room except the TV with a single PC.
