Game Two Tonight

I promise I’ll eventually stop inundating you with hockey when this is supposed to be about tech stuff, but it’s consuming me right now. Especially after last night’s game. Um…I watched it in HD, so that’s somewhat tech-related, right? The place I went to has an HD projection screen TV, so it’s almost life-sized and actually almost kind of disturbing depending on how close you sit. I’m going somewhere else tonight, so the screen is much smaller, but I get to sit closer. It’s a tradeoff.

Game On!

Well, not right this minute, but game one is tonight. Luckily for those of you who dislike hockey you’re only going to have to hear about it for a maximum of another seven games (and hopefully less than that). For those of you keeping score, it’s the Detroit Red Wings vs. the Pittsburgh Penguins in a rematch for the Stanley Cup. We, of course, are hoping for back-to-back wins, but now, before we play any games, I’d like to say whoever wins deserves it. Which is the extent of my extending any kind of olive branch toward Pittsburgh.

Shopping Adventure

Do you ever have those days when you do something so completely boneheaded you wonder how you ever made it as far in life as you’ve gotten? I went to the grocery store this afternoon. On a Friday at the end of the month. It wasn’t that I really needed anything that badly, it was just that I was bored and figured I’d pick up a few things. The store shelves looked as if a pack of rabid hyenas had been at them…what few packages of food were left sitting there seem to have been dragged across the store on the bottom of someone’s shoe and the store was absolutely packed. I ended up getting nothing, and then when I got to my car I found that someone had let their shopping cart ram into my passenger door so I had a nifty little dent. Luckily, it popped back out once I removed the offending cart. I am very glad to be home again.

Friday Already?

This week flew by for me…could be because of the holiday, could be because I haven’t worked since last Saturday, could be a number of things. But here we are at the weekend already, or we will be once y’all get through this last day of work. I was going to do some gardening, but it looks like rain and it’s really pretty chilly out. I’m thinking of settling in with a book and the cat instead.

Housework Again

Still no takers on the Roomba, huh? That’s too bad, I really dislike vacuuming. Oh well, could be worse…I could have a bigger house. I have to admit there’s something absolutely satisfying about sitting in my living room when everything is dust-free and smells nice. I found some furniture polish that smells like vanilla, so that’s a definite improvement over the fake lemon scent I used to use. Apparently, it’s been quite some time since I cleaned my monitor, though…after I dusted I had to turn the brightness down two notches so it didn’t blind me.

Oh, and by the way…bye-bye, Chicago! Next up: Pittsburgh!
