Nintendo NES Takes The Cake!

Actually, more accurately, it IS the cake…

Nintendo NES Cake

The detail is impeccable! This cake even has the pinouts for the controllers all the way down to the power LED on the left side. It’s a shame that this may only feed 2 - 4 ravenous retro gamers.

Woman Gives Birth. Then Wakes Up With No Arms and Legs.

I really wish this was a tabloid heading, but a Sanford mother that just gave birth isn’t laughing. The hospital is hiding the details and meanwhile the mother can’t hold her children or take care of them anymore. This is sad…

ORLANDO, Fla. — A Sanford mother says she will never be able to hold her newborn because an Orlando hospital performed a life-altering surgery and, she claims, the hospital refuses to explain why they left her as a multiple amputee.

Robotic Parking Garage Opens in New York

Remember those movies where the valet takes the rich corporate moguls high end sports car and drives it around town while he’s at dinner? Well, the days of the misbehaving valet are numbered. New York is announcing the first of many robotic parking garages. The initial rollout will happen in Chinatown this February.

Robot wants to park your car!

The technology is well proven overseas but has had some issues with technical glitches domestically. The only other automated garage in the US had some trouble in the form of dropping and trapping cars. Yikes! In spite of this, the developers are hopeful that they will be able to squeeze 67 cars in an apartment building basement that would normally only hold 24. That’s a huge space savings in already crowded NYC.

The Super Bowl Pushes HDTV Prices Down

Only a few years ago, you really had to look hard for an HDTV. When you found it, it was also the most expensive set on the showroom floor. That’s why they come back to the store as “rentals” after Super Bowl weekend. No one could afford to keep it! Flat panel? Forget it! It used to cost as much as a compact car. How the times they are a changing!

With the price of all HDTV format televisions dropping, consumers certainly have a lot more choice, and you can thank the Superbowl for that. According to this report:

TV retailers are announcing Super Bowl specials, offering incentives in terms of price breaks, free surround sound systems, financing schemes and reduced-price or free installation packages. In some cases, Super Bowl specials involve price cuts of as much as 50%.

50% is a great discount and this is all thanks to Super Bowl!
