12v Auto Grill Lets You BBQ Anywhere You Can Drive auto grill 650x341 500x262

More and more of us are virtually living in our cars, be it commuting to work, traveling for pleasure, or just generally trying to get from one place to another. Those who go camping will have the car nearby. We have become increasingly dependent on ours cars not just as a mode of transportation, but as a sort of mobile office. Which means many of us find ourselves eating entirely too much fast food for our own good, because cars typically do not come equipped with a kitchen.

Or…maybe they do. The Koolatron Auto Grill offers you grilled food goodness right inside your car! Now, I’m not sure I can with good conscience recommend cooking while actually driving, but there’s always a rest area or park or something where you can stop for a few minutes, right? This works just like the more famous George Foreman grill, with the sloping surface to drain away fat, and a floating hinge to accommodate thicker meats or sandwiches.

The unit measures 8.5 x 10 x 7 inches and weighs just 2.5 pounds. It is powered from your cigarette lighter (power port, whatever), and requires only 15 amps to operate. Both the top and bottom panels are grilling surfaces, allowing you to cook your food twice as fast as regular grilling. The drip tray where fat run-off collects is easy to remove and clean. It’ll cook meat from frozen, and can handle just about anything you want to put on it.

You can pick one up for just under $40.00 US (which is about a 30% savings off MSRP) at Amazon. And while you’re there, read the reviews. I’ve been giggling like mad.
